飞机模型(航模)是a plane model还是a model plane?

受汉语的影响，飞机模型肯定是a plane model啊

但其实英文中的地道说法是：**a model plane**.

我们可以这样理解，我们说飞机模型的时候我们最终要强调它是一个飞机，就像玩具飞机它也是飞机，所以要以plane作为中心,model作为定语修饰。

在牛津高阶词典中，这种情况的model为名词：
